I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

The Thanksgiving Bluebird.

Shortly before

sitting down to a sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner, my sister said "Look!  The Bluebirds are here!"  I grabbed the camera and watched as five of them seemed to pose.  It was frigid in New England and I'm always amazed that the birds seem undeterred from their daily routine during the cold.
It was amazing to watch them "lick" the water dripping off the icicles in the sun.
Snapped during take-off.
All of the garden ornamentation provides perches of different shapes and sizes.
An up close glimpse of this lovely and adorable creature.
There's a holiday song that proclaims "Gone away is the bluebird...."  Surely, this family of feathered friends hasn't heard it!
