I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Fall flower boxes on Nantucket.

The late October weather on the island has

been wonderful; balmy, breezy with a spit of rain.  Just the way I like it!
Year after year, I'm struck with the island's floral creativity.
This brand new copper box will gain a nice patina over time.
I love gazing balls.  Time to reflect.
This the season.
Lovely shades of purple and green interspersed with seasonal decorative veggies.

Fading away but lovely.
Interesting use of perennials and annuals.
Sometimes simplicity reigns.
Cascading like the stairway.

Like a whisper...
Simulates an early snowfall.
A little bit of a sunset.
A summer shower.

A little bit of a sunrise.
Comfy cozy.

I love the use of succulents in these boxes!

This one is just plain happy!
This speaks of the season.
Wispy and summery.
Simple and elegant.
Fabulous!
