I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

A sunny afternooon in Peterborough, New Hampshire

Peterborough is a quaint, quintessential New England town located southwest of Concord and and a bit northeast of Keene.  Only about 45 minutes north of Route 2 in Massachusetts, it's an easy trip to make in a day.  This pretty little village offers adorable shops, great food and music too!  There's a rich history in Peterborough, as you'll find at the local Historical Society
What a wonderful old sign!  The Peterboro (note the spelling) Diner offers a simple dining experience and a place to meet friends over a cup of coffee.
Alice Blue was a wonderful surprise!  A perfect place to purchase your summer escape wardrobe, this petite and unexpected pleasure compares with the crowded shops on Newbury Street in Boston; without the crowds!  Luscious summer linens abound here.  Do you have a wedding to attend this summer season?  You are sure to find the perfect nuptial ensemble at Alice Blue.
Clearly, a very dog friendly town.
I love the color of this building!
We literally stumbled upon bowerbird & friends.  Vintage meets modern.  Outstanding.
Rustic with a twist.
The Toadstool Bookshop offers a place to relax while perusing the superb collection of literary finds.  Grab a sandwich and a few friends while enjoying the sunshine!
This lovely little chain of three stores is home to a delightful cafe enticing customers to sit for just a bit longer.
This vintage VW bus fits right in to the inclusive downtown of Peterborough.
Sarah's Hat Boxes are a fine example of products made in the USA.
Lunch at Waterhouse was an unanticipated culinary treat.  We couldn't have asked for more....a glorious day and lunch by the river.
A tranquil setting.
A creative invitation.
The Peterborough Shoe Store location; a vintage delight.
Red geraniums welcoming summer.
Eclectic shop windows abound.
Beautiful artwork.
An innovative display.
This is a wonderful gift for any bird lover.
The architecture in Peterborough is very traditional New England.
A "zen" garden.
