Do you have a favorite gardening sweater?

 

You'll find an absurd amount of sweaters in my closet but this one is special; it's reserved for gardening.

It's an old Irish knit.  The tag says "natural" color, meaning it hasn't been dyed.  It's fuzzy from wear but thank goodness, no one put it in the dryer before I found it!  Of course it's a consignment find from a rummage sale.  

The tag also says "handknit".  I love that about it and I think about the person who knit each and every stitch.  I wonder; did they garden too?

One house saved; millions to go. An update.

What a great place to pick up again.....the house is being renovated!  Beginning with a new roof, we can only imagine what it will look like upon completion.  Thankfully, the entire thing didn't end up in the dumpster.  The location overlooking the river couldn't be more serene.  It's heartwarming to see work being done on the property.  It's officially a fixer upper; not a tear it downer!  It would be lovely to see more antique homes such as this one get a second chance at life.

Fixit Upper or Tear it Downer?

 

 There are so many things I like about this home from the small window to the left of the door to the "bump outs" on either side of the door and the dormer (although it needs new windows).  Not to mention the location near the water!  Let's hope it's a fixit upper!

Christmas comes every year.  But each year
