I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

The LL Bean boot truck and a couple of Maine 4th of July parades.

If you're lucky enough to be spending the 4th of July in Maine

I recommend the Round Pond 4th of July parade.  Get there early!  Bring your beach chair and find a nice spot for viewing along Route 32.  Be sure to get an ice cream at the Granite Hall Store after the parade!
While driving on the Maine turnpike earlier this week, we came upon the LL Bean boot truck!
Complete with a label just like the boots in my husband's closet, it's fun to see this large boot rolling down the highway.
You can see this wonderful Maine icon at the 4th of July parade in Freeport.  The parade begins at 10am.  Find more information here.

As for those "Bean Boots" in the closet....he bought them on our honeymoon 36 years ago!  Still a favorite.
