I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Is this what April 1st is supposed to look like?

 The violet blooms on cue.
It's April 1st and while the snow on the ground tries to "fool" us into believing Winter still exists, we know in our hearts that it's Springtime!  The groundhog has emerged from under the barn and a walk around the house, inside and out, shows signs that Spring is really here.

Dawn embraces the hyacinth bulbs on the windowsill.
New growth on the Christmas cactus.
 Morning shadows.
 An indoor birds nest.

 New growth on the iris.
This poor little angel has been under snow for many weeks.
Note the reflection of the snow behind the spring bouquet.

 Mulch!
We can see the ground around the base of the old tree.
We can finally reach those Christmas greens....time to remove them!
These cold nights and warm days are perfect for maple syrup.

This is the one I am most excited about....a daffodil reaching for the sun!
