Settling in by the fire on New Year's Eve.

It's four degrees out tonight so we've

opted to stay in for the night.  A New Year's Eve celebration on the farm means bundling up by the fire and reading a good book or watching an old movie.  As the sky darkens, the moon rises up over the stonewall.

The Christmas tree is framed by the setting sun.

A light dinner suits us tonight and we decide on blue cheese with a slice of pear on a cracker.  All the while, drizzled with honey.

Simply wash a pear or an apple and slice thinly.
Use a cracker of your choice,
a nice blue cheese and a touch of golden honey.
Comfort food on a bitterly cold night as the moon illuminates the barn.
Happy New Year from The Old Granite Step.
