I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

A New Year's Day walk around Camden, Maine.

A sailing mecca; you won't see a Christmas tree atop a mast in every port.

We've had an inordinate amount of rain this year but we have witnessed this almost completely dry as opposed to today's overflow.

There's nothing like a traditional holiday box.

A nod to Peyton Place.  A classic.

Love the use of the money plant.

Dreaming of a summer walk on the beach picking up stones.

Gilded reindeer.  Lovely.

Couldn't you just live here?

We should use twinkly lights all year long.
The traditional goose.

Brrrrrr.

           Love those shiny pepper mills.

Utilitarian when filled with water for the birds.  Art nouveau when filled with ice.

But who doesn't love a bookstore?  Especially one where you can grab a cup of coffee.

A favorite warm weather destination.

Fabulous use of blue!

Genius.

We should use more imagination when building these days.

    Plain and simple.....I miss Cappy's
Get your provisions here before hiking up Mt. Battie.
      Just cute.
A water view from every corner.

Happy New Year from The Old Granite Step!
