I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Recent auction finds from Maine.

Who doesn't love a good auction?!  I had

one thing on my mind that I was looking for but this clock wasn't it!  I was intrigued with the ship although the clock itself was a replacement clock that doesn't necessarily match.  I love the dark wood housing and will keep it like this until I decide whether or not to replace the clock again.
Gifford's Ice Cream.....yay!  Any ice cream.....yay!  This old school ice cream sign is now hanging in the cottage kitchen.  I love it.  It's a nice reminder of those warm summer days when ice cream is a necessity.
I always end up with some furniture whether or not I need it.  The table will be a nice addition to the dining room.  My plan is to put some of the outdoor plants that come in for the winter on it but I can use it as a side buffet table too.  I loved the detail work on the legs.
Such pretty woodwork.
We've already used these buckets for apple picking!  We bid against a few people for these.  They'll come in handy for lots of things.
The toboggan will make a nice display piece in a local outdoor store.  If you tell me what you need, I'll find it for you!
The smaller table is a perfect end table.  I may paint it but I'm still on the fence about that.  I like to live with things for a bit before deciding their future.  The dresser is going to be a sink base in my newly renovated bath.  This is the piece I was looking for!  It's the perfect height for a vessel sink.  The drawers are veneer but the legs are solid wood.  I adore the woodwork on this piece too.  I'll be sure to post photos of it when it's done.
Check your area....is there a good auction tonight?
