I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

We treated ourselves to baked goods from Sift; home of Best Baker in America.

When you are in

the Mystic, Connecticut area, make the trip over to Sift Bake Shop on Water Street for a cup of coffee and a fresh pastry.  Owner Adam Young, recently won the title of Best Baker in America on the Food Network.
Presentation means everything at Sift.  This chocolate hazelnut delicacy will be my afternoon treat with tea.
The perfect size for one.
Sadly, the humidity got to my slice of blueberry violet cheesecake before I could get it home.  I'm sure it won't affect the delectable taste.
The décor perched upon this tiny slice of Heaven is amazing!  White chocolate adornments complimented by a fresh edible flower....perfect.
My husband chose the almond croissant.
A knife and fork were in order as the almond crème was in abundance!
We rounded the order out with two plain croissants that were wonderfully layered with butter.
A fresh morning treat indeed.
