I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Its a great day for backyard birdwatching!

It is a very blustery and chilly day here but it hasn't deterred the birds

from visiting the feeding station!  We often see the Red Bellied Woodpecker, but he doesn't usually visit the orange.
Incoming!
This is the first day this year that we've seen the Baltimore Oriole.  The female was here this morning.  Although we have a specific feeder out for the Orioles, they seem to prefer the orange.

After eating from the orange, he tried the suet.

We spotted the Rose Breasted Grosbeak for the first time yesterday.

While photographing the "bigger" birds, the Hummingbirds are just a few inches away on the other side of the window!
